OJOA Lake Scugog Boat Ride & BBQ

Join your fellow OJOA members for a summer day on the water in picturesque Port Perry!

Following our Annual General Meeting, we are thrilled to invite you to a classic "three-hour tour"—minus the Gilligan’s Island mishaps. We’ve organized a fleet of pontoon boats, captained by our very own OJOA members who are licensed powerboat operators, for a scenic cruise across Lake Scugog.

Whether you’re a seasoned sailor or a dedicated "landlubber," this event offers the perfect blend of nautical adventure and backyard relaxation.

Event Details

• Date: Saturday, June 27th, 2026

• Boating Departure: ~12:15 PM at Port Perry Marina

• Barbeque: 4:30 PM at 437 Lakeshore Drive, Port Perry

• Cost: $100 per person (Includes boat rental, fuel, and a fully catered BBQ)

The Itinerary

The Cruise: We will be renting 10-passenger pontoon boats from John Mackey at the Port Perry Marina. Safety is our priority: all captains are licensed, and lifejackets will be provided for everyone on board as per marine regulations.

The Feast: After three hours on the water, we’ll head back to dry land for a summer barbeque hosted at a local member's residence. Our "celebrity chef" will be manning the grill starting at 4:30 PM.

Not a fan of the water? No problem! You are more than welcome to skip the boat ride and join us directly at 4:30 PM for the food, drinks, and camaraderie.

Registration & Payment

Deadline: Friday, April 24th Because the marina books up rapidly once the sunny weather hits, we must secure and pay for the boats in advance. Immediate payment is required to confirm your spot.

Planning to stay overnight? We are currently negotiating a favorable group room rate at the Blue Heron Resort Casino & Hotel for members who wish to stay locally.

Further details, including a map and driving directions, will be sent to all registered attendees as the date approaches.

OJOA Garage Gathering – July 12, 2026

Join us for a special OJOA Garage Gathering on Sunday, July 12th starting at 10:00 AM, hosted at the home of Tony Burgess and Josephine O’Brien, featuring their spectacular Jaguar collection.

This event is open to all OJOA members and their spouses and is designed to be a relaxed, social gathering. While we will introduce the newly simplified Concours rules, the primary focus of the day is to connect, enjoy great cars, and spend time together as a club.

A complimentary lunch will be provided, along with seating arrangements for attendees.

Concours & Club Discussion

We will be introducing the updated and simplified Concours rules, making this a great opportunity to learn more ahead of the upcoming event.

This gathering also provides an excellent opportunity—especially for our lady members—to discuss and plan special activities for the OJOA Concours, which will be held on Sunday, August 30th at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton.
